Pet Skin Care
Diet, allergies, fleas and ticks can be factors in a pet’s skin condition. The good news is, although pet skin
problems can be troubling they can often be prevented or treated.
There are steps that can prevent potential problems and help maintain a healthy skin and coat.
(1) A healthy diet that includes essential fatty acids (omega 3 and omega 6). Omega 3 and Omega 6
are important nutrients that help with a pet’s overall health, but also help maintain a healthy skin and coat.
The first three products listed below would make up for this potential deficiency.
(2) Another aspect of skin care is dealing with pet allergies. Because allergies can stem from pollen,
food, cleaners, as well as a variety of other sources it can be difficult to pinpoint the source of an allergy.
Feeding your pet a quality natural diet, using natural care products, and being aware of chemicals that your
pet may be exposed to (carpet cleaners or lawn treatments) can sometimes relieve skin problems.
Unfortunately, allergies can be very tricky, so you may want to consult a vet. The product below is great for
dogs who are allergic to wheat.
(3) Preventing fleas and ticks is another step in good skin care. Good grooming and an alertness of
potential problems can keep some skin problems from occurring or progressing. If a pet has lots of fleas or
ticks seek medical help as this may be a serious health problem.
(4) Dealing with hot spots right away is a good skin care practice. Some pets get hot spots, areas of
the skin that are itchy and irritating. It hot spots prolong without attention they can get worse. You may
want to consider the healing cream below.
